Just finished the movie with The ANG, Mr & Mrs Bear. I really enjoyed the show. Although i’m not a fan of the comic but i do watch the X-Men trilogy and Wolverine is one of my favorite character.

Hugh Jackman is like so fit in the show can~ i read that he went through a very tough physical program to build up his physique for this movie. The scene where he rose from the tank of water after the program X was like totally nv touch up de loh… yummy~~

I wonder will there be sequels to the other X-Men characters…hmm well maybe Cyclops or Gambit??

Oh and i tot Kayla Silverfox was actually Jean Grey hahah but no no…Jean Grey was Cyclops partner not Wolverine….mistake sia….

Ok next movie in anticipation: Angels and Demons……

Finally found the time to catch the movie with The ANG. I actually cannot really remember the story from the previous parts and although there were lots of reviews saying the last installment sucks but i personally like the movie.

I think the plot was pretty decent and Vin Diesel is simply soo sexy, i love his voice. The ANG even said he wanted to go cut skinhead!! hahah but but……hahahah

Anyway, i kinda like the character “Han” from Tokyo Drift. I tot he will appear more in part 4 but no leh…..anyhoo i think probably there will be a part 5. Maybe will start from the part where DOM race with Sean from Tokyo Drift.

Out of the 3 movies that was on our list to watch, (Shinjuku Incident, Fast & Furious 4 & Knowing) we choose Knowing. Actually i wanted to watch F&F4 but both shows at 11.10pm and 12.00am were sold out. I hate Jacky Chan so option left is Knowing.

The story was still very interesting at first, with the suspense and the premonition but the last 20 mins was very very disappointing…

Think along the line of “end-of-the-world”, “Angels”, “Adam & Eve”…..if these still doesnt put you off, please by all means to watch the show.

I seriously think the ending sucks….it wasnt a love story, no proper explanation why the kids can hear the whispering, where the “whisperers” brought the kids to, why the hell the ending looks like putting Adam and Eve to the Knowledge tree….There is even things that you could explain or relate to Noah Ark or the 玉兔 from 常儿. –> ok maybe i have too good an imagination but well….i can only say…..save the $$ and watch DVD.

Daigo Kobayashi (Masahiro Motoki) is a devoted cellist in an orchestra that has just been dissolved and now finds himself without a job. Daigo decides to move back to his old hometown with his wife to look for work and start over. He answers a classified ad entitled “Departures” thinking it is an advertisement for a travel agency only to discover that the job is actually for a “Nokanshi” or “encoffineer,” a funeral professional who prepares deceased bodies for burial and entry into the next life. While his wife and others despise the job, Daigo takes a certain pride in his work and begins to perfect the art of “Nokanshi,” acting as a gentle gatekeeper between life and death, between the departed and the family of the departed. The film follows his profound and sometimes comical journey with death as he uncovers the wonder, joy and meaning of life and living.

After like 2 attempted tries to watch the movie but always full house, we managed to catch the show last night.

I was crying like mad during the entire movie….it was quite a predictable plot, knowing exactly where the story will end but the rituals for the encoffinment are so delicate and detailed, and the different way different people react to the departed….some sad, some full of regret, some bidding their goodbyes in smiles…..it really makes you think about the life and death….but not a heavy story though.

The ANG was as usual luffing at me when i teared but i wasnt the worse loh……i could hear ppl sniffing and crying loudly in the cinema. We are just sentimental emo creatures. ha ha

Those not watch it yet, please do go catch the movie in GV.

Was deciding between Slumdog or K-20 and finally settled for K-20 cos bro-in law n gf have already watched Slumdog.

Anyway K-20 is in my opinion a so-so movie. Was amused by the fact that its machiam like Batman, Superman, Robinhood, Matrix all in one. Ha ah but the twist was kinda good. Nv expected that til the last sec.

And as usual, Takeshi Kaneshiro is yummy. His voice very sexy can~

“I was born under unusual circumstances.” And so begins “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. We follow his story, set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man’s life can be. Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett with Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond, “Benjamin Button,” is a grand tale of a not-so-ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

Caught the movie with The Ang. It was superbly nice and meaningful. Its beautifully shown how someone will live his life backwards, seeing things in reverse.

The way the movie was narrated was kinda the old way, 1 voice transiting into another. i like it. I especially like 1 part where Brad Pitt was narrating about how 1 small action will lead to another which in turn leads to the accident.

Definitely worth going to the cinema to watch. Highly recommended. And did i mention Brad Pitt acted so well??? In his old physical looks, he portrays the innocence of a kid in his eyes and when he started getting younger n younger, his thinking actually got more n more matured. Very good acting skills.

Ah Ly is a happy girl today. Went shopping with bestie and kel and although it was a short 3 hours, all 3 of us managed to buy something. My initial target was to get more tops and instead i bought 2 dresses and a belt. So now i will still need to go on another shopping trip to buy my tops.

After the shopping, it was gown selection for my wedding photoshoot. Totally enjoyed the choosing process, wearing so many gowns and finally choosing the 4 for my photoshoot. And i even gotten a short piece, tot i would look fat in a short gown with my thunderous legs and all but luckily enough i was worried for nothing. After wearing the gowns, even my huge arms seems not dat huge after all. And Susan said i did slim down, hahah happy can.

The last activity for the day is Red Cliff, it was really very nice as commented by everyone else. Fighting scenes were great and the war tactics, superb. Some of the dialogues were kinda funny as well like 曹操 saying “别闹” and 关羽 saying “你过时了” And did i mention? 金成武 was simply stunning. He was funny, clever and very handsome. I was ogling at him while The Ang has his eyes on 林志玲 haha.

I was very distracted throughout the show though cos of something that happened but all is well now.

Ong Bak 2 is my 1st movie in 2009. Bad choice. It was sucky can~ ok, i have not much interest in this show but The ANG wants to watch and i have to the “Yes Wife” once in a while so off we go.

I was so disturbed for the 1st half of the show. The fighting scenes were damn gross. I practically closed my eyes for most of the fighting scenes.

After the damn loh soh 1st part of the movie, it became slightly interesting when he went to take revenge and the last bit of twist was in fact a surprise for me and just when i was telling The ANG about it, the show ended with no ending. It was like WTF??!!

Then there were these bad people in the movie that were like tiger and crows?? WTF again….

And the last last bit which i really need to rant….Y on earth is it call Ong Bak 2 when the farking lead is call TIEN in the movie?? Wheres the link???

I am so not going to watch Ong Bak 3,4,……..10

I just hope Red Cliff tomorrow will make me forget all about stupid Ong Bak.

I have watched 25 movies in 2008, 1 more movie as compared to year 2007. Time to do a recap, off the movies i have watched, the crappiest one has to be You Don’t Mess With The Zohan. I have always love Adam Sandler but this movie is by far the worst…Lame, Crude, Not Funny.

My Fav movie is a tie between Sex and the City and Batman The Dark Knight, and if i really have to choose. It will be SNTC. Not only was the movie good, it was like a proper closure for the SNTC fans…after 6 years, 6 seasons.

Ok, looking forward to the movies in 2009.

I love Donnie Yen, in fact of all the actors that are well known for their martial arts, i like him the most. His actions are not as fanciful and “dangerous” but the force and the “Sey” really very sut and he got a better face and body as compared to the rest. hhaha

Anyway this movie i wouldnt say its fantastic. In fact, i thought its a bit boring. The plot and character is pretty similar to 霍元甲. I guess the background of the time is around the same ba. But 1 think is, Donnie Yen can definitely act better than Jet Li.

In this show, he doesnt give people the feeling that he is a 一代宗师 feel. He is humble and not too overly passionate about martial arts. I especially like the part after the battle with the 10 japanese and he was walking home and sitting at the fire area talking to his wife. Nice.

======
Recently we have not been watching any movies. Firstly its because we are busy but the other reason is there seems like not many good movies lately. :(

Heard lots of good reviews about this movie, been waiting for it. The Ang did not go work today so we went and catch the show.

VERY Nice!!!! Its funny with all the hokkien and its touching talking about the 小人物 stories. I especially like the last part where they had the concert. Very emo. Im a sucker for these kind of shows.

Now i understand why it is so popular in Taiwan. I think it sorta really highlight in a very simple way of the people in Taiwan now. Leaving their hometown to venture in big city, failed and have no choice but to return home.

小人物 pursuing their dreams.

Was really stressed up with work recently, caught a movie with The Ang to destress.

Its a movie based on the movie “Cellular” but i think its way better than the original. 大S acting skills were really good.

Occasional laughter along the way and in fact the character i like is 刘烨, the baddie. He damn suitable for these kind of roles loh, like in 天堂口 also.

Ok no spoilers, cos i know bestie haven watch hahah

===
Shit, i’m dreading work, freaking busy. Am wondering is it really healthy for my life. Haiz.

Met up with Thomas, the ID before catching this movie earlier with the usual gang. The show was quite alright. Basically more of a love story than a horror epic. Its a 6 person relationship and i must say there really wasnt any surprises. Hmm i would say a pretty safe movie.

I initially tot worse come to worse at least there is still Donny Yan but he this time is not the cool cool type of character, instead its more of a funny character.

The part where 周迅 changed her skin was pretty gross, like changing clothes like dat but that is pretty much all there is on the horror part. A pity though cos i tot 聊斋stories would be more scary.

Oh and 戚玉武 was the other demon character, not too bad wor.

Next, i wanna watch the 保持通话 which is the chinese version of the movie Cellular.

Caught the movie Wall-e earlier this week with Jerry and Shan. Finally made it after saying for like 3 weeks. Its either I cannot make it or Shan cannot make it.

Movie was great!! Animations was awesome!!

I been really busy recently…..work has been taking up a huge time…imagine sometimes i can have like meetings the whole day and my day to day work will be piling up.

I have been working for like 6 years but this job is by far the busiest one but oso the most interesting one given the nature of the job and industry.

Oh, just completed 2 days of training by the company, teaching us some models of knowing more about Brand Power. I find it ok, maybe not that applicable for my department as we still have to get brief from the suits but with the knowledge we can better advice our clients.

Gonna meet the bestie later, i haven meet her for like 3 weeks already, missing her badly!!!!

Caught the movie with the weekday group (Shan, Jerry, AiLing) hahah we cheapo…watch before wed at Cathay only $6.

Anyway, the movie was awesome!! All the way from the start there is action. It was intense, action packed and the characters were all great. I love the Joker character, he is realli sick….

Batman was so so….nv realli expected much from him…. but his helpers, Alfred & Fox were cool… Oh and i feel that Alfred somehow looks like Professor Mcgonagall from Harry Potter hahahah

Up til now, I think Batman could be the runner up for my best movie in 2008…..the winner is still Sex and the City wahahhaha

Well, for those who is hesitating to watch or not….. GO WATCH IT!!!! You will nto regret it.
